GET OFF TO A GOOD START

We like it when you put your experience and expertise to work for the success and growth of our company, especially if you enjoy meeting challenges, working with a team, and taking individual responsibility. To enable you to do this from the very start, we first develop an orientation schedule tailored to your needs and skills. From the outset, you will be guided by a sponsor who will support you individually and integrate you into the company. This will allow you to quickly become familiar with key workflows, co-workers and varied projects. You will also be provided with a comprehensive training programme from the first weeks on so that you will be up to scratch on the specific requirements at Ganter.

YOUR QUESTIONS – OUR ANSWERS

WHAT DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED TO SUBMIT WHEN I APPLY?

Contact us with a letter detailing what in particular motivates you to apply for a job with Ganter, enclosing your curriculum vitae and references. Your letter should also include information about your availability (earliest possible start date, period of notice) and your salary expectations. While everyone prefers to speak in confidence about money matters, we must still ask you to include this as early as your initial contact by letter.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO HEAR AN ANSWER?

You will receive a confirmation by email immediately after we receive your application. It usually takes two to three weeks to review your documents more thoroughly.

WHAT IS THE REST OF THE PROCESS LIKE?

Once we have reviewed the application materials and clarified any further questions by phone, we invite applicants for an initial “get-to-know-you” interview. This interview is normally held at one of Ganter’s locations, but depending on your availability and the cost of a trip, a conversation via Skype, WebEx or FaceTime is also possible if necessary. The point is for us to get to know one another personally, but also to get an initial impression of our respective expectations, strengths, values, and ambitions. If both sides are interested in going forward, a trial day at work in the department you are interested in follows. This will give you the opportunity to look over the shoulder of your future co-workers, to ask questions and to experience the working environment for yourself. For our part, we get a more precise impression of your people skills and professional strengths. If the application process reaches the next level, a contract is agreed upon.

WHO WILL I MEET IN MY INITIAL INTERVIEW?

Generally at least one representative from the department and one person from Human Resources are present at the initial interview.

WHO MAY I CONTACT?

Because a perfect onboarding process and smooth integration are so important to us (see “a good start”), we will provide you with a dedicated contact from the very start. You may get in touch with this person at any time. However, thanks to our open and communicative corporate culture, you will soon feel confident contacting other co-workers as well. What is more, there will be regular feedback sessions between you, representatives of your department, and managers from HR.

ARE THINGS REALLY THAT INFORMAL AT GANTER?

Yes, that’s right. Treating people as equals is so important to us that people at Ganter really are on "first name terms" with one another, regardless of their position in the company’s organisational structure.

WHAT OTHER FEATURES ARE PART OF THE CORPORATE CULTURE?

The way we work is extremely dedicated, team-orientated, full of joy, and to the highest standard – and we are proud of that. But even if we are extremely ambitious in our goals and never lose sight of our company’s success, sharing the fun is always important. Barbeques, New Year’s parties, excursions, and privately organised sport and musical groups promote this corporate culture and team spirit.
We cultivate shared values like respect, responsibility at all levels, and open-mindedness – and that’s why our corporate language is English.
We believe that a culture of openness to criticism and feedback helps each and every one of us, and that our development – in HR as well – is never complete. That is because Ganter’s aim to be the best in the business calls for ongoing quality control and improvement, across the board. (Read more under “Good Reasons for Ganter”.)

WHAT DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES DOES GANTER HAVE FOR ME?

The Ganter career path, paired with a wide variety of internal and external training programmes at Ganter Academy, offers the best foundation for your further professional development. Whenever possible, we recruit our leaders from our own ranks – staying true to the idea of “promotion from the inside”!
