650,000 kg of reinforced steel
Moxy Hotels is the newest addition to the luxury and lifestyle portfolio of the renowned US hotel group Marriott International. It sees itself as a young and innovative brand that combines modern design and service at an attractive price. As a general contractor, Ganter was commissioned to build a budget and lifestyle hotel in Vienna-Schwechat consisting of 405 rooms spread across six floors. The 52,000 m³ hotel is being built on a plot with an area of 6,000 m².
Construction for this project began in February 2016 and will be completed within 12 months – a feat that would hardly be possible without the precise project planning, coordination and logistics that Ganter specialises in. A total of 650,000 kg of reinforced steel will be used for Moxy in Vienna and each room will be prefabricated using wooden components and assembled on site. Furthermore, 8,000 m² of carpet will be laid and 162 doors installed. A great deal of coordination is necessary to ensure that this project proceeds smoothly. But Ganter’s international network and many years of experience have enabled the company’s Italian branch to combine all construction phases and activities for this project into one all-inclusive package – from breaking ground to the grand opening in March 2017.
