EXPO Dubai

Baden-Württemberg’s participation in the Expo in Dubai is a historic event: for the first time in history, the federal state is presenting itself with its own pavilion at a world exhibition.

The Ganter Group was responsible for the interior fittings of the VIP LOUNGE and the BETTER TASTE LIONS LOUNGE restaurant in the Baden-Württemberg House at the Expo in Dubai. Materials particularly typical of the Baden-Württemberg region were used, such as whitewashed spruce and vertical greenery with moss surfaces, which contrast with elements made of brass and black laminates. The sliding door as a passage to the VIP lounge was covered with a full-surface forest motif. Smart luminaires by Vanory create individual lighting moods that pick up on the colours of the Black Forest, from the light brown of the woods to the strong green of the firs, and translate them artistically.

At Expo 2020 in Dubai, the Baden-Württemberg House embodies Baden-Württemberg as a location for innovation, business, research, tourism and culture, and at the same time sees itself as a stage for the medium-sized (family-owned) companies, corporations, educational and research institutions based in the state, which are world leaders in many fields.

Under the motto „Connecting Minds, Creating the Future“, Expo 2020 in Dubai poses the question of future visions, concepts and technologies in an increasingly networked world. Until 31 March 2022, the Baden-Württemberg House at Expo Dubai will offer an interactive state exhibition with more than 40 projects and innovations on global topics of the future, as well as an extensive cultural programme with artists from Baden-Württemberg. In addition, there will be regular cooking shows where visitors can get an idea of Baden-Württemberg’s cuisine for themselves.
