Hotel Suite Seven

In a historically protected building in the middle of Merano’s old town, a boutique hotel with twelve guest rooms and a small shop has been created that meets modern design standards. Ganter took over the realisation of this multi-storey city hotel as general contractor from the conception and planning phase, through obtaining all permits to execution, including installation work and interior fittings. The construction site covered a total of 1,700 m² and represented a project volume of around 4 million euros.

The specific challenges of this project were, on the one hand, the preservation of the building’s historical structure during the necessary demolition and excavation work, and on the other hand, the logistics on the construction site: the narrow streets and alleys in the heart of Merano offer absolutely no storage opportunities, which required exceptional organisation in order to avoid being too much of a burden on local residents and neighbours. A lot of steel and glass was used here, which forms a pleasant contrast to the organic-looking stone walls of the building. This play with surfaces and the successful combination of old and new are also represented in the conscious use of modern design furniture. The fact that all the four Siebenförcher siblings decided to place their project entirely in the hands of Ganter ensured that they remain satisfied and successful with their family business to this day.
