Showroom in a class of its own
The Mercedes me store on Hamburg’s Inner Alster no longer has much in common with a normal dealership. As part of the new Mercedes-Benz concept, it’s the customer and not the cars that take priority here. Customers should feel comfortable in the store right away, allowing them to experience the Mercedes brand more intensely.
Ganter Interior was the general contractor in charge of this 550 m² project. To begin with, the basement area of the historic building on Ballindammstreet had to be statically reinforced with a total of 125 steel wire supports and cross-beams. The next step was to gut the entire showroom area and install a new ventilation/air conditioning system, new computer technology (incl. switchboard room with distribution and server cabinet) and new, energy-saving LED lighting. Afterwards, cutting-edge media technology was integrated to provide visitors with information. The acoustic ceiling ensures a quiet atmosphere and the new fire and burglar alarm system guarantees security, while the high-end parquet flooring and synthetic resin floor coating eliminate any risk of slipping. One optical highlight is the intricate, geometric wall panel detailing, installed by Ganter. 45 m in length with black-painted tiling rising to a height of approx. 5 m, this creates a special atmosphere in the showroom. Another eye-catcher is the gastronomy counter system with a linoleum surface. This system is equipped with a refrigerated display counter, a rear wall with integrated glass door fridges and an Italian espresso machine. Ganter Interior also expanded and equipped the back office with a sanitary area and three catering rooms.
