YOUR QUESTIONS – OUR ANSWERS

IS THERE AN IDEAL WAY TO APPLY FOR A POSITION?

We are always pleased to receive your application materials via our applicant portal. But even if postal delivery means more work for us, it won’t disadvantage you.

WHAT DOCUMENTATION IS ESSENTIAL?

Contact us with a letter detailing the motivation behind your application for a traineeship. Enclose a curriculum vitae, the three most recent references and any certificates and verifying documents. To apply for an internship, the letter about your motivation, accompanied by a curriculum vitae and your most recent reference will be sufficient.

HOW BIG CAN MY APPLICATION FILE BE?

When you apply, check the appropriate portal to make sure that your files are not larger than 50 MB.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO HEAR AN ANSWER?

Immediately after we receive your application, we will email you a confirmation. How long we take to look more closely at your application depends on when you submit it. If you apply for a traineeship at the beginning of summer, some time may pass before you hear an answer, because the application process lasts approximately until August.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO APPLY?

Ganter does not have fixed application periods. But starting in about June, the traineeships for the year to follow are posted, which is why it is a good idea to apply by about mid-September.

WHAT IS THE REST OF THE PROCESS LIKE?

Once we have reviewed the application materials and clarified any further questions by phone, we invite applicants for an initial “get-to-know-you” interview. This interview is held in person with both heads of training. Depending on availability and the cost of a trip, a conversation via Skype, WebEx or FaceTime is also possible. The goal is to get an initial impression of one another. Those who make the shortlist participate in a trial internship or go to an assessment centre. A decision is made after this.

THE PERFECT TRAINING PACKAGE

AN EASY ENTRY

The first step is always the hardest, but we make it easier with a well-thought-out, transparent process tailored to your needs: Just before your training begins, you will receive your orientation schedule, which will prepare you fully for what is ahead. Once the big day arrives, the first thing you will do is get to know the company, those in charge of training, and other trainees and employees. You will be taken step by step through the daily business routine. This first orientation phase ends with an excursion for all Ganter trainees that will help you to bond even more closely.

A PERSONAL POINT OF CONTACT

As the world of work and our company will be completely new to you, you may have questions that you would prefer not to ask your trainers. That is why Ganter will give you a mentor right from the start. This person has been training for some time, so they will not only find it easy to step into your shoes, they will know possible answers to your questions.

EFFICIENT AND STRUCTURED IMPLEMENTATION

During your training, you will find yourself challenged and encouraged according to your skills. Like every other trainee at Ganter, you will receive an individual training plan for the entire length of your training course. This will list, chronologically, the various stages that you will pass through. Plenty of time is scheduled for every department and team where you spend time working, so you will become familiar with all processes and duties and learn them by heart. In other words, you are not in any way an onlooker. Quite the contrary: you will quickly become an indispensable part of Ganter and play a role in the success of the company even during your training.

ALL-ROUND SUPPORT

Every department in which you spend time will have a dedicated training officer who will devote himself or herself to supporting you and your development and integrate you fully into the team and into the daily business routine. He or she will be happy to answer any questions about specific duties and about the training in general. As a matter of principle, Ganter fosters open communication between employees and encourages them to deal with one another as equals. That, too, will benefit you and ensure that your training is successful.

VARIED TRAINEE PROJECTS

Even during their training, our young employees assume individual and joint responsibility for projects. These include internal company projects such as organising the annual barbeque and New Year’s celebration, managing interns, organising trainee excursions, and other creative projects in our immediate vicinity. Ganter trainees have, for example, redesigned a “reading island” for a kindergarten and a tourist information booth in Emmendingen. This offers ideal opportunities to take an active role, discover your creativity, really experience teamwork, and assume responsibility.
