At the end of June 2022, an era will come to an end in Freiburg’s city centre. All three Kaiser fashion stores will close. Not only we are sad and nostalgic, but also customers far beyond Freiburg’s city limits.
For almost 20 years, GANTER has realised all small and large interior design projects in close cooperation with the management and the Stuttgart planning office blocher partners. Anyone familiar with the Kaiser Modehäuser knows that attention to detail was involved in both the Damenhaus and the Herrenhaus on Kaiser-Joseph-Straße as well as in the S1 on Schusterstraße.

Blocher partners designed surprising, innovative and sensual spaces – sometimes in an industrial look for the Kaiser S1, sometimes masculine and urban for the Kaiser Herrenhaus or sexy and feminine, as most recently in 2021 for the Kaiser Damenhaus. It was certain that after each new presentation or opening Kaiser Moden was the number one topic of conversation in Freiburg.
The ‘Kaiser Spezialhaus für Herrenbekleidung’ was founded in 1948. A few years later, in 1953, founder Ernst Kaiser gave his wife Zita an entire department just for women’s fashion. The beginning of an exciting and thrilling fashion journey in the heart of Freiburg.
