From the warehouse to the office complex
For the headquarters of the Hoffmann Group in Munich, Ganter transformed a four-storey warehouse into a modern and open-plan office building according to the plans of the Stuttgart architectural firm blocher partners – the result is anything but a conventional open-plan office and reflects the client’s open company culture. For this project, a warehouse in Haberlandstraße in Munich was completely removed and the closed building complex was supplemented by an inner yard with plants, which both provides a view of the greenery and brings a lot of additional light to the interior. The expansive facade structure is broken up by large window fronts. The external transparency reflects the open concept inside.
Different elements were used to give the complex building an orientating structure. A lamella structure on the ceiling marks the route and guides through the different areas. In order to be able to realise this central design element in accordance with the ideas of blocher partners, Ganter first of all prepared a 3-D measurement for all four floors in the area of the lamella ceiling and, in addition to the technical planning, also took on the material-intensive construction of the ceiling.
The departments and work areas are divided by hanging glass panels. These shield the individual work groups from each other and – as a pleasant bonus – act an insulation from noise. At the heart of the office space is a niche architecturally designed by blocher partners and implemented by Ganter, which offers different possibilities for privacy over a length of 125 metres, both for smaller meetings and for concentrated working.
Ganter’s expertise was also in demand for the other furniture and fixtures designed exclusively for the Hoffmann Group, such as the reception area, the wall panelling or the conference tables.
Although the climatic conditions were difficult and the cold winter in April was icy, Ganter succeeded in meeting its own goals and those of the customer. After all, reliability and dependability are top priorities not only for the Hoffmann Group but also for the Ganter Group. After a construction period of only 6 months, the offices were ready to be moved into in July 2017.
