brewery fanshop in an old barn
On the occasion of the Rothaus State Brewery’s 225th anniversary, Ganter built a store in Grafenhausen, Germany. Originally a barn on the brewery’s grounds, the store, where fan merchandise can be purchased, has a unique atmosphere throughout its 170 m2. The purpose of this project can be sensed as soon as one reaches the wrought-iron entrance portal built by Ganter: to create a space where fans of the traditional brand can linger. When working on the interior, it was therefore especially important to Ganter to maintain the barn’s original flair created by materials such as granite, wood and porcelain. But the metal used for the brew kettles also gives the store a unique appearance: copper tubes traverse the entire space to create a sophisticated lighting effect and also function as merchandise racks. Furthermore, the use of wooden elements with the Rothaus logo imprinted into them represent both the company and the brewing tradition. Original Rothaus wooden barrels and cases as well as raw presentation tables and contrasting elegant leather chairs create a space that is just as authentic as it is cosy.
